On Your doorstep:
Indoor swimming pool on site 2008: 10 x 5 meters, with solarium area, for use of residents.
The chalet is within walking distance of a leisure centre with summer bathing lake, volleyball court, summer toboggan run, ropes course and playground, and 2 clay tennis courts.
Marau:
A pretty village with pleasant shopping, restaurants and cafes. A tram stop is located 5 minutes from the Chalet.

Winter:
Kreischberg (www.kreischberg.at) :
29 kms of runs. Two cable cars, 3 chair lifts, 5 drag lifts, 1 rope tow. Range: 850 metres – 2,118 metres. Location of FIS Ski Cross World Cup Race 2006.
Fabulous for beginners and intermediates, with wide open slopes. Snowboard world championships arena, with ski and board fun park.
A six seater chair lift and new ski run is to be built direct from Stadl (a 5-10 minute walk) and will be operational from December 2008
6 day lift pass 2007: 137.50 Euros (adult), 73 Euros (children)
Turracher Hohe (www.turracherhoehe.at) :
38 kms of runs; 1 8 person gondola, 3 x 6 seater chair lifts, 2 chair lifts, 8 drag lifts, 25 high altitude cross country trails, children’s ski school. Range: 1,400 metres – 2,025 metres. Also night tobogganing and 2000 m2 ice rink.

7 Mountain ‘Murtaler’ Ski Pass (www.murtal.at) :
7 great mountains with a total of 150 kms of pistes at altitudes of 850 – 2,222 metres
6 day lift pass 2007: 144 Euros (adult), 76.50 Euros (children). Small surcharge for Turracher Hohe of 6/ 3 Euros per day.

Obertauern (www.obertauern.at):
For the serious skier. With over 120 km of interconnected pistes at snow sure altitude - a mere 35 minute drive from the Chalet - this is definitely worth a visit during your trip. Daily lift pass from 35 Euros. Have a look at the webcams at www.obertauern.at

Summer:
- Steam Train rides, operating from June to September, on the Murtlabahn – great fun for children!
- Hiking: Full details can be found on www.murtal.at. Plenty of routes for all levels of fitness, with use of the cablecar at Kreischberg. Particularly special is the Grebenzen Nature Park (www.naturpark – grebenzen.at)
- Cycling: Network of cycle paths for all levels, including the River Mur Cycle Path. Mountain cycling also available: www.st-georgen.marau.at
- Summer Toboggan Run: Located in Turracher Hohe, the run lasts 1100 metres. Open from 1st July – 31st August each year.
- White Water Rafting: On the River Mur. Pick up available from the Mutalerhof hotel, see www.st-georgen.marau.at
- Tennis: The St Lorenzen leisure centre has 4 clay tennis courts. In Stadl there are two all weather tennis courts and Marau has an indoor tennis court. For booking: www.st-georgen.marau.at
- Golf: St Lorenzen has a driving range: www.st-georgen.marau.at Marau Kreischberg golf course offers a newly completed 18 hole course, www.golf-marau-kreischberg.at. Further courses at www.gc-mariahof.at and www.gcmurtal.at
- Fishing: Trout fishing in the nearby River Mur.
- Finally, the brewery museum at Murau is also worth a visit!
